The science library of Kim Il Sung University was opened in October, Juche 35(1946) at the same time when the university was founded. And it was newly-built magnificently into 4-storeyed building on the initiative of President Kim Il Sung and under his scrupulous leadership in October, Juche 59(1970).
Later in October, Juche 112(2023), it was modernized wonderfully into open-stack library under the warm love of the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un.

Its total floor space is 11 000 m2 with over 1 000 seats and it can house 1.2 million books.
