Building No. 1 was completed in October, Juche 54(1965).
Consisting of five interconnected blocks, it has a total floor space of 45 000m2. It has approximately 470 rooms including small and big lecture halls, a 200-seat lecture hall, a 250-seat lecture hall as well as a wide range of laboratories, departments and offices. It houses Faculty of Life Science, Faculty of Geology and Faculty of Material Science.
