The WPK has the longest ruling history as a socialist ruling party and has steadily carried forward the revolution true to the sacred fighting programme for realizing the independence of the popular masses for over 80 years since it was founded on October 10, 1945.
In his speech made at the military parade to celebrate the 75th founding anniversary of the Workers' Party of Korea on October 10, 2020, the respected Comrade
"Our people have devoted their blood and sweat to the sacred revolutionary cause without hesitation, upholding our Party single-mindedly for 75 years."
The glorious over 80-year history of the WPK is the history of loyalty and filial devotion of the Korean people who have trusted and followed the Party all the time and have devoted their all to translating its plans and lines into brilliant reality.
In the difficult and arduous period after the Fatherland Liberation War, the workers in Kangson Steel Plant performed miracles of producing 120,000 tons of steel billets using the blooming mill with a capacity of 60 000 tons in hearty response to the earnest call of the President who said that our country could overcome the difficulties if they produced 10 000 tons more of steel, and meted out a resolute punishment to the factionalists who hindered our people from implementing the Party's policies and the flunkeyists, technocrats, conservatives who were not believing in the strength of the people.
The President recalled that despite the complex internal conditions of the Party and strong pressure from other countries and the difficult economic situation of the country, our Party took a revolutionary measure to concentrate the efforts of the entire Party and all the people on economic construction without any slightest vacillation, while directing some efforts of the entire Party and the people to the struggle against factionalists, saying that Party members believed in the Party Central Committee and vice versa, and all the people trusted in the Party and the government and united close around it, in hearty response to the Party's call, to make a general charge for increased production and economy, so that we could defeat the internal and external pressure and achieve great victory.
The Chairman said that our people were good people who had followed the road of revolution, believing only in the Party and the leader and defending the leader at the risk of their lives whenever our people went through difficult trials in the past, and when the situation at home and abroad was complicated and factionalists attacked the Party, an old woman from Thaesong ri said to the President, "You have got a thinner face than before. You don't worry too much. No matter how much the factionalists may talk about the people's life, they can change nothing. So don't worry about the people's life. I am sure the winner will be us. The factionalists are doomed to defeat. We support the President."
He highly praised that our people are, indeed, excellent people who can never be found anywhere in the world, saying that he could overcome the difficulties and carry out the Party's line of socialist construction to the end by gaining fresh confidence in her simple words.
Thanks to such heroic and great people, our Party could build a powerful socialist fortress independent in politics, self-supporting in economy and self-reliant in defence on this land where centuries-old backwardness and poverty had prevailed, and usher in a new era of building a powerful socialist country despite the vicious blockade of the imperialists.
That is why the respected General Secretary said, in his speech at the military parade in celebration of the 75th founding anniversary of the WPK, that the Party was always invincible and could work miracles on this land in any adverse circumstances thanks to the great people who responded to the Party's call for a great upsurge by rapidly developing in the spirit of Chollima and waged the speed campaign when it planned a grand construction, and went through thick and thin to carry out the Party's decision unconditionally.
He proudly declared that our people went through all kinds of ordeals and difficulties in life relying on boundless loyalty and filial devotion, unyielding fighting spirit and through their sincere efforts, which gave me a firm belief that they would follow and defend the Party for 750 or 7500 years, not 75, in the future.
