Independence is the political philosophy of our Republic, and the core of the Kimilsungist-Kimjongilist ideas of State building

In order to know the root of victory and prosperity of the Juche Korea having the endlessly bright and rosy future we should understand our Republic's political philosophy and idea of State building.

The respected Comrade Kim Jong Un said:

"Independence is the political philosophy of our Republic, and it constitutes the core of the Kimilsungist-Kimjongilist ideas of State building."

The development of a certain country and nation depends on its political philosophy. The philosophy which clarifies the theoretical ground of politics guiding the social development along the most correct way is the Juche philosophy, anthropocentric one. The Juche philosophy gives scientific answers to all theoretical and practical issues arising in realization of the socialist politics. It is the scientific and revolutionary political philosophy of our Republic, which gives the most accurate principle and methodology for developing society and carving out the destiny of the popular masses. It is because the political philosophy of our Republic is run through with independence.

The political philosophy of our Republic, based on the principle that independence is the life of man, and the country and nation, clarifies that independence of the country and nation should be realized in order to realize independence of the popular masses, that to this end, it should raise their ideological level to inspire them to the revolution so as to establish the government of the people and build up the Juche-oriented political forces, and that each country, with its own guiding ideology, should exercise the complete sovereignty and equality in the international relations.

Independence, the political philosophy of our Republic, constitutes the core of the Kimilsungist-Kimjongilist ideas of State building. The Kimilsungist-Kimjongilist ideas of State building illuminates that it is a gigantic and worthwhile undertaking to turn our Republic into invincible political, military and prosperous economic power, and have the people live well enough to be the envy of all others in the world.

The reason why independence serves as the core of the Kimilsungist-Kimjongilist ideas of State building is, first of all, that it is the life of the Korean revolution and the fundamental cornerstone for State building.

A socialist State can defend the country's prestige and people's destiny, and build and perfect socialism as suited to its situation and by its own efforts, only when it maintains the principle of independence and the Juche-oriented stand definitely in all its activities.

The great Comrades Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il raised independence as the life of the Korean revolution and the fundamental cornerstone for State building and advanced the revolution and construction in our own way while categorically rejecting worship of big countries, dogmatism and the high-handedness and pressure by outside forces. Under their wise leadership our Republic has been built and developed to be a socialist State, independent in politics, self-supporting in the economy and self-reliant in national defence, and it is still demonstrating to the world its prestige and might as a powerful independent country.

The great Comrade Kim Il Sung, saying that he regarded as his motto since he started the revolutionary struggle that one's destiny can only be pioneered by one itself, thoroughly established Juche with a view and standpoint as the master of the Korean revolution even when he was deprived of his country and waged the arduous anti-Japanese revolutionary war in an alien land. In the hard periods of the postwar rehabilitation and the socialist construction he resolutely rejected the arbitrariness of a great power which enforced the "integrated economy" while interfering in the internal affairs of the country.

The member states of the Council for Mutual Economic Assistance, subjected to the other country, were not allowed to make even a match at will though their factory were on their territory, and they collapsed in succession when the great power, which they had depended on politically and economically, ruined in a day. Such tragedies prove the correctness of the foresight of the great Comrade Kim Il Sung, a great master of independent politics.

Therefore, the great General Kim Jong Il said that if he had not adhered to the Juche-oriented faith and line in the period of the anti-Japanese revolution, we would not have accomplished the cause of the national liberation, and that if we had been submitted to the pressure of the great powers and joined the Council for Mutual Economic Assistance while abandoning the line of building an independent national economy, we would not have built a socialist country independent in politics, self-sufficient in the economy and self-reliant in national defence.

The great Comrade Kim Il Sung made a big stride of history resolutely departing from the flunkeyism- and dogmatism-ridden past. He set up independence as the life in the whole period of leading the revolution, and solved all the problems arising in the revolution and construction to suit the requirements of our revolution, interests of our people and reality of our country by the Korean style, thus building a powerful motive force for our revolution. And he frustrated the counter-revolutionary offensive of the imperialists and reactionaries and intervention of the opportunists, and led to victory two times of revolutionary war, postwar rehabilitation, two stages of social revolution and socialist construction. He also constantly developed the relations between the parties of other countries, and the states on the thorough basis of the principles of independence, thus demonstrated the international prestige and dignity of our Party and the state remarkably and made a great contribution to the implementation of the cause of independence against imperialism, and the cause of socialism.

The great General Kim Jong Il climbed up the ridge of Mt. Ryongnam and expressed his will to add glory to the country—it was his solemn declaration of the great independent politics who came before the era while firmly grasping the steering wheel of history.

The great General, who cherished a firm faith and iron will that the might of independence is inconceivable apart from the military strength, resolutely defended socialism of Juche, the life of our people, and independence of the country, and demonstrated the dignity and honour of Kim Il Sung's nation.

Our Republic's strategic position and influence is being raised day by day as it recently achieved the historic cause of simultaneously carrying on the construction of the economy and the upbuilding of nuclear forces amid a do-or-die confrontation with the imperialists and is leading the trend of situation towards peace. Today the imperialists' willful violation of the sovereignty of other countries is growing more undisguised than ever before, and not a few countries are being forced into a miserable plight as they have no strength with which to defend themselves; in this world it is hard to find a country like our Republic that is steadfast in the principle of independence and assures the security of the State and the happiness of the people by its own efforts.

Another reason why independence serves as the core of the Kimilsungist-Kimjongilist ideas of State building is that it is the basic principle our Republic must invariably maintain in State building.

There should be a correct principle in State building in order to safeguard the dignity of the country and nation and achieve prosperity.

Holding fast to the revolutionary line of independence in State building and activities is a consistent and immutable stand of our Republic.

Geographically, Korea is sandwiched between big countries and its territory remains divided. Our Republic is conducting socialist construction as the hostile forces are resorting to more vicious schemes in trying to contain, undermine and stifle it.

Given the special circumstances of our revolution and the complexity of the present world situation, our Republic should build up its own strength from the firm standpoint of independence and seek independent development to defend its sovereignty and dignity and achieve true prosperity.

From the outset of the revolutionary activities the great leader Comrade Kim Il Sung held high the banner of independence and pioneered the road of independent development. He set up as the fundamental principle the issue of establishing Juche and maintaining independence in the revolution and construction, and thoroughly implemented it.

In the past, too, when the world socialist camp existed and the countries concerned maintained cooperative relations to varying degrees, our Republic adhered to self-determination and independence in carrying on the revolution and construction, and promoted socialist construction on the principle of self-reliance.

The politics of the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un, who gives priority to the history of the independent politics of the great Comrades Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il that could not be exchanged with tremendous wealth, is that of independent one from A to Z, and the sacred history of independence of our revolution will go down forever as there is the respected General Secretary.

He invariably carries forward the principle of independence the great Comrades Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il maintained while regarding it as their lifelong motto and advances along the road of independence taken by the great leaders though the passage of time or in any hardships. With the will to fulfill the mission and obligation as the descendant of the great Comrade Kim Il Sung and the soldiers of the great Comrade Kim Jong Il, the respected General Secretary laid the powerful national defence capabilities which can guarantee the sovereignty of the country.

Building socialism by its own efforts according to the revolutionary line of independence is the basic principle the respected General Secretary invariably maintain in State building.

There will be no slightest concession or compromise in the matter relating to the fundamental interests of our State and the people in the face of any challenges and difficulties. This is the staunch creed of the respected General Secretary enjoying boundless trust and respect from all the people as the seasoned, experienced and outstanding leader.

Prosperity and victory lie in the road of independence.

The unchangeable road our people would advance along is just that of independence.

With a thoroughgoing faith and will to pioneer the road ahead by our own strength we will build a socialist power on this land to the letter.
