 2026.10.6.

The respected Comrade Kim Jong Un said:

"As he believed in our people as he did in himself and was convinced of the victorious future of our country, General Kim Jong Il always followed the road of devotion for the country and the people, cherishing warmest affection for them."

Numerous moving stories are told and retold even by a small road on this land.

On January 16 1998, Chairman was nearing a fork on his field guidance tour of the Jangjasan Power Station in Jagang Province.

It was about noon when he finished his field guidance at the power station. The accompanying officials suggested he visit the Jangjasan Revolutionary Site on that occasion as it was nearby.

For Chairman, Mt Jangja was an unforgettable place where he had planted two pine-nut trees, visualizing the victorious day in the hard-fought Fatherland Liberation War. Decades had passed since then with the seedlings growing into giant trees.

He looked for a while at the feeder road leading to the revolutionary site from the main road. He seemed to recollect the unforgettable childhood days he had spent in the flames of the war and the nights when he sat up, wishing President Kim Il Sung shouldering the destiny of the country and people good health.

He stood there in silence before saying that he was very grateful to their suggestion-he also wanted to visit the mountain, but he would like to do so in the future when all our people would be well off.

That evening he walked along the riverside of of Puk River after finishing his field guidance tour of the Jangjasan Power Station. The river banks were beautifully bathed in the bright lights coming from the houses of the newly-built electrified village.

And further afield was the fork to Mt Jangja. What he kept thinking on his all-day-long forced march of dozens of miles was a happy look of his beloved people he visualized at the meaningful fork.

Walking along the riverside, he said that he was very pleased that day; he felt invigorated at the sight of local people living in the well-heated houses thanks to the electrification.

As Chairman valued the people most and found boundless pleasure and pride in devoting his all to their happiness, the fork to Mt Jangja still tells the story that the people's happiness grew day by day thanks to his painstaking efforts.
