A Bathing Resort and Ardent Love of the Great Man for the People

The respected Comrade Kim Jong Un said:

"Regarding ‘The people are my God' as his motto, General Kim Jong Il believed in the people as in heaven, loved them infinitely and, always placing their demands and interests in his first consideration, did his all for them."

Chairman Kim Jong Il visited the Ryongsupho Bathing Resort, a scenic spot on the west coast, on May 13, Juche 90 (2001).

The Chairman who was looking over the beach associable with the famous resort of the east coast had a shadow pass over his face.

Originally, the bathing resort had been built according to President Kim Il Sung's plan for promoting the health of the people and providing them with an improved cultural life.

He had given instructions on building the resort in an excellent way on several occasions. And in September Juche 82 (1993) he had visited the resort and solved all problems arising in managing and operating it.

Under his concern, the resort had been turned into a cultural and recreational area frequented by many people from various places including the capital city of Pyongyang.

However, it had been reduced to a lonely place during the period of the Arduous March.

Looking round the officials of the resort with a worried expression, Chairman Kim Jong Il said that building up the resort into an excellent place was an important undertaking for supporting the lofty intention of President Kim Il Sung who had devoted all his life to the people.

Then he advised how to add more things like service facilities to renovate the resort and how to solve the problems of electricity for its renovation project and operation and passenger transport means.

On hearing from an official that the rare red stones found in the corner of the resort were planned to be used as building materials, he said that doing so would mar the beautiful scenery of the resort, adding: By renovating it into a people's cultural resort, we should translate into reality the intention of President Kim Il Sung who made his heart and soul to provide the people with good conditions for cultural and leisure activities.

Under his warm care, the once-lonely resort could be renovated and filled again with the happy laughter of the people.
