The Significant Lecture on the Eve of Party Founding

The respected Comrade Kim Jong Un said:

"The great leader Comrade Kim Il Sung was the most outstanding leader of the 20th century and a peerlessly great man."

Whenever the significant day of founding the Party comes, our people recollect with deep emotion the immortal exploits of President Kim Il Sung for the cause of founding a revolutionary Juche-type party.

In retrospect, the significant day when our Party was founded was only two months after the country's liberation and less than a month after the President's triumphant return to the country.

The cause of founding the party in such a short period is unthinkable apart from the great efforts made by President Kim Il Sung day and night.

Among the impressive stories about him who worked energetically for the cause of founding the party without a moment's rest is the unforgettable story about his lecture for candidates of the party cadres of new Korea.

At that time, many difficult and complicated tasks were being set before Korean revolutionaries, including the founding of a party and the establishment of a people's government, the work of rallying the masses and stabilizing the people's living standards. But the biggest problem was the lack of national cadres to undertake these enormous tasks.

Having already grasped the importance of the problem when he set up a milestone for building a new country after the liberation of the country by clarifying the three-tasks of founding a party, a state and an army, he visited the South Phyongan Provincial Party Committee on September 24, 1945 and took a step to establish a provincial party school whose mission was to train the Party cadres and gave detailed instructions on the name of the school, the number of students and the contents to be dealt with in lectures.

That day, President Kim Il Sung earnestly said that the work of training cadres was the one that should be done, no matter how difficult the situation in the country was and this is the demand of the revolution.

But, because they had no experience in training the party cadres and their abilities failed to measure up, some teachers were teaching them this and that without a clear curriculum.

After learning about the situation, he dispatched an excellent anti-Japanese revolutionary fighter who was tempered in the anti-Japanese war to the school and personally visited the school on October 3, 1945 to give a significant lecture to the students under the title "On Progressive Democracy".

President Kim Il Sung said in his lecture that Korean people demand a progressive democratic road in which the popular masses become the masters of the country and which brings freedom and happiness to all people, adding that the progressive democratic road is the road desired by Korean people who had suffered harsh maltreatment and exploitation without any freedom and rights under the feudal system and Japanese imperialist colonial rule for a long time in the past and this also ensures the prosperity of the country and the eternal prosperity of the nation. Then he declared that we should build an independent and sovereign state based on the progressive democracy.

The lecture, which took nearly three hours, completely impressed the audience. The students who were completely fascinated by his lecture, gave loud applause, saying "This wonderful lecture is the first one I have had in my life" and "it illuminates our way like a beacon." They expressed boundless respect and reverence for President Kim Il Sung.

Indeed, the lecture was a significant one that brightly illuminated the road to be followed by Korean people who wandered without knowing where to go and clearly indicated the direction of their struggle to the party cadres of new Korea.

The years have passed since then, but the unforgettable lecture given by President Kim Il Sung on the eve of founding the Party will be handed down forever along with the proud course of the Workers' Party of Korea which is winning only victory and glory.
