The typhoon and floods that hit North and South Hamgyong Provinces and many other parts of our country one after another between August and September last year caused great casualties and many flood victims.
The respected Comrade
In 58 hours after the announcement of the letter, the selected 12,000 Party members of the capital of the DPRK were formed into the divisions, held a meeting at the plaza of the Kumsusan Palace of the Sun and made their urgent way to the spot.
Though the project was huge and its condition was unfavorable, they built modern houses for 140 families in the flood-hit areas of South Hamgyong Province within 18 days after the start of the project, displaying the revolutionary spirit of self-reliance to the full.
As soon as arriving in the spot of North Hamgyong Province with a forced march of thousands of kilometers, they took measures to provide building materials by making the way for urgent carriage and dynamically advanced the building project overcoming all sorts of difficulties.
They created miracles through day and night, thus building hundreds of wonderful single-storey dwelling houses and small apartments and repaired roads and rivers not to be affected by any flood.
This proved once again that self-reliance is the national custom of Juche Korea and the unique weapon of the Korean revolution.
