The Father of Nation Building

The brilliant flag of the DPRK is fluttering in the blue sky of September.

Looking at the flag solemnly, the Korean people extend the greatest glory and boundless gratitude to President Kim Il Sung, the founder of the glorious DPRK praising him as the great father of the nation.

Chairman Kim Jong Il said:

"The founder of our nation was Tangun, and the founder of socialist Korea was Comrade Kim Il Sung."

A country has a history of nation building. There may be traces of blood in the history of nation building and an inexperienced road no one has ever taken. The father of nation building is a great man who laid the foundation of a country experiencing the arduous struggle of nation building before others

The national hero who performed the immortal exploits of nation building is always kept in the minds of the people and highly praised.

President Kim Il Sung is the great father of nation-building who opened up the origin of building a socialist state centered on the popular masses in Korea for the first time in history and laid an eternal foundation for building a prosperous independent and sovereign state.

In the early years of the arduous anti-Japanese armed struggle, President Kim Il Sung set forth the original line of building a political power and established the first people's revolutionary government by applying it, thus gaining valuable experience in building a people's political power. He clarified the line our country should follow before returning home in triumph after liberating the fatherland.

In his speech to the military and political cadres on August 20, 1945, he clarified the three tasks of building the party, state and army in the liberated country, and that the Korean people faced with the task to carry out the anti-imperialist, anti-feudal democratic revolution and that a democratic people's republic representing the interests of all the Korean people should be established from the revolutionary character and duty at the present stage to solve the issue of sovereignty.

The President said in his historic speech at the triumphal ceremony on October 14, 1945 that the government to be established in the new Korea is a democratic people's republic, a genuine people's government capable of thoroughly defending the interests of the popular masses and firmly guaranteeing the prosperity and development of the country and nation. He went on to say that we should organize and build up the people's political power organs as soon as possible and build a democratic people's republic on this basis, and that the people from all levels of society should turn out in the building of a new Korea with high patriotic enthusiasm. And he ardently called upon the entire nation to build a democratic, independent and sovereign state in firm unity, in which powerful people should make an active contribution to nation-building with strength, the knowledgeable people with knowledge and the rich with money.

True to the great line of nation-building, the Korean people devoted all their wisdom and passion to the building of a genuine people's political power, singing vigorously the songs of a new country building.

In those days, the popular central sovereign organ, a powerful political weapon for successfully carrying out the building of a new Korea, was established and democratic reforms including the agrarian reform and nationalization of major industries were successfully carried out and the name of the country, a national emblem, national flag and a national anthem were established, reflecting the will and demand of all the people.

This was, indeed, a precious fruition of the outstanding leadership and tireless efforts of the President who devoted his all to making the Korean people the most dignified people in the world.

President Kim Il Sung convened the historic First Session of the Supreme People's Assembly of the DPRK in Pyongyang in September on the basis of all the successes made in building a new Korea and the brilliant victory of the general election in August, 1948.

At this meeting the President was elected as the head of State of the DPRK in accordance with the unanimous will and desire of all the Korean people.

On September 9, 1948, President Kim Il Sung proclaimed the founding of the glorious DPRK all over the world.

The founding of the DPRK was a solemn declaration announcing to the world that colonial Korea which had been eclipsed on the world map emerged as a country of Juche and the Korean people, who had been wandering about in the situation of a stateless nation, proudly took the world stage. It was also a significant historic event in which a new chapter of socialist construction centered on the popular masses was opened.

Since the historic day, the Korean people have covered the road of victory and glory under the wise leadership of President Kim Il Sung and fully demonstrate the dignity and honor of being the citizens of Juche Korea.

That is why the Korean people are deeply aware of the great exploits performed by President Kim Il Sung for nation building with the passage of time and hold him in high esteem for all ages as the great father of nation building.
