Standing Again from Disaster

Generally, natural disaster brings a bitter misfortune to people.

In recent years, heavy rain and flood damage caused by the disastrous climate have occurred sporadically worldwide, bringing serious disasters to mankind.

It is well known that the level of Amnok River rose beyond the danger line due to the record-breaking heavy rain caused by the disastrous abnormal weather in the DPRK from the end of July 2024, which made some areas of North Phyongan, Ryanggang and Jagang provinces flood-stricken.

But none of flood victims was in despair or sadness. Everyone has confidence in and optimism about the coming happiness.

The respected Comrade Kim Jong Un said:

"Nothing is more precious than the people, as they constitute the foundation of the country, and nothing is more sacred than their interests."

In the morning of August 16, 2017, everyone was surprised to see Rodong Sinmun, the organ of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea.

So shocked was the fact that the respected General Secretary personally met the flood sufferers who arrived in Pyongyang.

He visited the remote and rugged flood-stricken areas several times to acquaint himself with the flood victims' inconvenience and took benevolent measures to bring children, pupils, old and sick people, mothers with babies and disabled soldiers to Pyongyang until the wonderful "rural cultural town" was built on the spot. He came to the lodging quarters of the inhabitants in the flood-hit areas in hot August, and welcomed them with benevolent love speech.

Familiarizing himself with the preparations for education for the pupils from the flood-hit areas and personally putting the satchels on their shoulders, he said with satisfaction that they looked really beautiful in new school uniforms, and that their mothers who came together would like it. He instructed earnestly that they should study harder and do physical exercises to make their families and the country happy. Saying that he was very pleased to see the cheerful children in their new school uniforms and that their laughter was the strong breathing and lively stamina of the advancing country as well as the symbol of the mightiness of our own socialism, he blessed their promising future.

The attention of all people across the country is focusing on the April 25 Hotel and military parade training base in Pyongyang.

This is because the deepest affection never found before is being devoted to the flood victims here every day.

There are many countries in the world and each year witnesses flood sufferers. But nobody can see such affection in any era and any other country.

The great image of the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un, who is devoting his all to the people's life safety and their happiness with "do or die" spirit, provides people with great passion, unswerving faith and infinite strength.

Having the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un in high esteem, their happiness is forever and if he decides, they must do without any condition; this is the belief firmly cherished by the Korean people through their real experience and the great strength that they had risen from today's disaster.

Again, the world will see that Korean people get rid of natural disaster as soon as possible and build the enchanted fairyland full of people's laughter, under the leadership of the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un.
