We defined the method for combining Traditional Koryo medicine and modern medicine to treat the children's asthmatic bronchitis that has high risk of disease and is converted to the chronic disease in a short time.
We compared the effect, duration of treatment symptoms and signs after treatment with the previous modern medical treatment.
In the last 8 years, 52 of 125 patients diagnosed as children's asthmatic bronchitis were treated by antibiotics and other treatment on the symptoms as the contrast group, while 73 patients were treated on BL13 and LU5 as the experimental group.
Penicillin 50,000~100,000 unit/kg was administered three times daily to both groups.
In the contrast group, parenteral prednisolone 1~2mg/kg was given three times daily and ephedrine hydrochloride 4% 0.16~0.4mg/kg was given intramuscularly three times daily.
In the research group, Aminophylline 2.4% 4mg/kg was administered to the left BL13 and LU5 once daily. (Next day the same drug is administered to the right BL13 and LU5 once daily.)
In the experimental group, main symptoms and signs decreased significantly, duration of treatment was shorter than contrast group and also fewer drugs were used.
This result was introduced to the central hospitals and clinics and the effect of combining Traditional Koryo medicine with modern medicine treatment was improved.
This research work should be continued.
