Our Korean people are seething with the implementation of the decision of the 6th and 7th Plenary Meeting of the 8th Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea and we are facing countless challenges and obstacles.
The source of boundless wisdom, passion and strength to turn impossibility into possibility and perform miracles and feats at this crucial, responsible and stern moment is the indomitable revolutionary spirit and the revolutionary spirit of self-reliance displayed by the anti-Japanese revolutionary fighters in the course of devotedly implementing the idea and intention of President
The respected Comrade
"Officials, Party members and all the other working people should, by emulating the indomitable revolutionary spirit, the revolutionary spirit of self-reliance, of the anti-Japanese fighters, overcome the difficulties and trials by their own efforts and work world-startling miracles."
With the revolutionary spirit of self-reliance, the anti-Japanese revolutionary fighters devotedly carried out the instructions of the President without any reason or excuse.
Among them, there is Pak Yong Sun, an anti-Japanese revolutionary fighter.
Early in Juche 26(1937), Pak Yong Sun was given the urgent task of making the necessary Korean socks for the soldiers from the President.
It was a very difficult task to produce hundreds of pairs of Korean socks with only one sewing machine in a week. However, under the firm determination that the task of the commander should be carried out without fail, everyone immediately got to work to make the socks.
One day, when night and day were in a tense battle, they were faced with an unexpected situation. They made less than half of their scheduled quantity, but only one sewing needle left was broken.
This was a great difficulty for the soldiers who were eager to carry out the order of the commander at an early date.
He could not report to the President that the needle was broken and he failed to carry out the order by the appointed day.
He decided to make a needle for sewing machines even if he cut steel wire and whet it on the stone, and fought a hard battle to make needles for sewing machines.
If it was a bit bulky, he could handle it with his hands freely, but it was hard to make a pinhole in the fine wire that slipped from his fingertips and cut a groove there. Nevertheless, he wisely made sewing needles with wires, but it was unable to quilt with the needles made of weak wires because it was bent quickly. Spending a night again, he made it with other wires, but the results were the same.
He bore in his mind the words of the President saying that if there was a will, there was a way.
Looking back painfully at himself, who had tried to retreat for a moment in the face of temporary difficulties, the fighter, while working with his men, found a way to make sewing needles even with matting needles.
Soon the painstaking work was done again to make sewing needles with matting needles.
The sewing machine, which had been stopped was in operation and creditably fulfilled the duty given by the President by waging a desperate struggle to make the tip of the sewing needle and make a groove for threading it by burning the corners of the needles.
This clearly proved that the spirit of devotedly implementing the revolutionary duty entrusted to him by the commander should be carried out unconditionally under any conditions, and that if he is determined to do anything, he can turn any impossibility into a possibility.
What does the indomitable spirit of the anti-Japanese revolutionary fighters engrave on us?
If the spirit of self-reliance and self-development is strong, it is possible to create miracles by turning misfortune into blessing and impossibility into possibility by fighting undauntedly in any severe circumstances.
When the Korean people fight with the indomitable revolutionary spirit, the spirit of self-reliance and fortitude created in the forest of Mt. Paektu and firmly carried forward to the sacred Korean revolution, they will wage a dynamic struggle to hasten the building of a powerful socialist country, bearing in mind the firm faith that there can be no difficulties and fortresses impossible to overcome.
