The burning sincerity of the Workers' Party of Korea, who considers taking responsibility of people's destiny to the end and taking care of them as its most sacred obligation and first duty, made a legendary tale of stay at Pyongyang of flood victims who were devastated by unexpected calamity.
In July 2024, the torrential rain and flood devastated the northwestern part of the country and it brought about a disastrous hazard on the life and security of the local residents.

The respected General Secretary led in person the campaign of rescuing and evacuating residents and made his way through floods flowing rapidly when he had sent to the bus even the last person from the plane.
And in the 22nd extraordinary enlarged meeting of the political Bureau of the 8th Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea held in field train he presented vital tasks and clarified ways to remove the aftermath of the natural calamity in the shortest period possible and took special measures that the children and flood-stricken people from flood-hit areas could live in Pyongyang, the capital city without any worries under the benefits of the government during rehabilitation project.
He regarded the nursing, upbringing and educating the children and schoolchildren as the top priority of all state affairs that could never to be abandoned even if the sky may fall in.
And according to his another important measure, the mobile educational group comprising teachers of preschool educational institutions, primary and middle schools in Pyongyang was formed and some rooms in the April 25 hostel were turned into classrooms and laboratories and the mobile service and medical team was organized involving responsible doctors, nurses and health officials with rich clinical experience selected from the Ministry of Public Health, hygienic and anti-epidemic organs and curative and preventive organizations in Pyongyang and clinics and temporary nursery schools were set up.
The respected General Secretary put in place an emergency system, whereby during the restoration work the students and all other children of the flood-hit areas would stay at Pyongyang and be provided with a safe and comfortable environment for care and education, entirely at state expense since the early days of the flood and he also taught scrupulously to give them education without letup after their vacation is over.
On August 16th 2024, he visited the April 25 Hostel and watched a demonstration lesson for a class of primary school pupils, which was organized as part of the preparations for new-term teaching of the pupils and acquainted himself in detail with the provision of educational equipment and school fixtures and took the state's measures to provide nursing, edification and education at the highest level.
All the schoolbags, school things, new uniforms, shoes, sportswear, caps, dresses and hairclips the children and the schoolchildren of the flood-hit areas received during the stay at Pyongyang were filled with the affectionate love of the dear father who takes care of them ensuring that they always live happy lives.
Indeed, the love for the people of the WPK is endless.
Feeling this love every minute during their stay in Pyongyang, the children and schoolchildren of the flood-stricken area firmly determined to prepare themselves to be the genuine patriots and the pillars of the future by studying hard for the grateful motherland in such a wonderful educational condition and environment.
