President Kim Il Sung said:

"Supply service work is of great significance in enhancing the combat capability of the units of the army."

There is no finer word in the world that can vividly describe Korean people's great missing of President Kim Il Sung, other than eternity, purity and intensification.

There are lots of stories which tell us about the love of President Kim Il Sung for the people, who was like a father to them. And here, this one illustrates his great effort and care for our KPA soldiers, regarding them as his own sons and daughters.

It was one November day in 1985, when President Kim Il Sung visited a certain KPA corps based near a river. Looking at the idle stony ground lay ahead in the territory of that corps, including the riverside, he ordered to turn those grounds into the arable. He said they could build a dyke along the riverbank and bring some soil up here which had further origin, and in this way, make this idle ground serve for the sake of the soldiers.

Later, true to his will, 8 acres of stony land were developed for the agriculture by the effort of the corps.

Being reported about this, President Kim Il Sung revisited the corps again over other pre-set schedules.

Looking around the standard-plotted field which was once an idle stony ground, he gave a happy smile and then highly praised the corps soldiers for the work they had done. He said this was what we call "new-land-acquirement movement" and suggested shouting "hurrah" for the sake of it.

This field was later known as the "hurrah field" while this movement spread out to the whole army thus making a richer diet for the KPA soldiers.
