The First of its Kind in the History of the WPK

The respected Comrade Kim Jong Un said:

"We should lay out Samjiyon County well to add eternal lustre to General Kim Jong Il's revolutionary career and exploits and ensure that cheering for the Workers' Party and for socialism starts resounding in the first village under Mt Paektu, the sacred place of our revolution."

There is a photograph in the office building of the Samjiyon City Committee taken for the first time in the history of the Workers' Party of Korea.

It is a photo the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un posed for together with the county Party officials on his visit to the then Samjiyon County in July 2018 when he gave field guidance at different units and construction sites in the county.

That day he praised the officials of the county Party committee who were waging a vigorous struggle in the van, true to the plan of the Party Central Committee for developing Samjiyon County, a sacred place of the revolution, into a model county of the country and an ideal communist village. He suggested having a photo taken with them before the statue of Chairman Kim Jong Il in the county, saying it was the first of its kind in the history of the WPK for him to have a photo taken with county Party officials.

After the photo session, he told the senior officials of the county Party committee that they should know well his intention of having a photo taken with them, noting that he did so in the hope that the officials of the Samjiyon County Party Committee would become the fighters who defend the native county of Chairman Kim Jong Il at the risk of their lives and the true servants of the people who take the lead in carrying out the plan and intention of the Party Central Committee.

Hoping that the officials of the county Party committee to be faithful servants of the people, he earnestly requested them to hold the people in high esteem as Chairman, regarding them as heaven, and become people's parents home where they can unbosom their hearts and be the County Party Committee that has taken root in their mind.

Saying earnestly that he was going to contribute to turning Samjiyon County, the home dear to the Korean people, into their best ideal place to live in in the country as a member of the Samjiyon County Party Committee, he ardently called on them to devote all their sincerity and soul to the modernization of the county with the mind of sprucing up their own home.

The first of its kind in the history of the Workers' Party of Korea.

The photo taken that day was an emotive picture that would be recorded forever in the history of the WPK as he posed for it as a member of the Samjiyon County Party Committee with the strong will to turn the county, the first village at the foot of Mt Paektu, the sacred mountain of the revolution, into an ideal place of the people best to live in in the country.
