The respected General Secretary, who always pays deep attention to the people's linguistic life, led them to name the products and institutions properly even though he was busy with his revolutionary leadership.
In the early August 2018, the respected General Secretary visited the Kumsanpho Fish Pickling Factory despite the boiling weather of midsummer.
When the respected General Secretary entered the showroom of productions after looking carefully at the production process, there displayed a dozen kinds of pickled dishes, including anchovy, launce and oyster.
While touching all kinds of pickled fish with a wide smile on his face, he suddenly took a small box of pickled fish and looked at the label carefully. He asked the officials if there was a fish called "miscellaneous fish" since the label said "pickled dish of miscellaneous fishes".
On hearing that they had never heard of it before, he thought for a while and said that they would have to change the name because "miscellaneous" didn't sound good and made people lose their appetite.
"Miscellaneous" usually goes with weeds, herbs, gossip... and certainly sounds old-fashioned and something mixed with impurities.
The respected General Secretary said to them with a smile that they should rename it like "sweet meat" to please people's appetite.
The officials were moved to tears as they cherished the noble intention of the respected General Secretary who was deeply concerned even about the name of the food that would be served for the people.
A few months later, the respected General Secretary made sure that "picked dish of miscellaneous fishes" was renamed "pickled dish of small fishes".
So the name "pickled fish of miscellaneous fishes" disappeared forever and the freshly new name "pickled dish of small fishes" came into being.
The respected General Secretary ensured that not only the products but also the institutions should be named properly.
One day in October 2013, the respected General Secretary, while visiting the then Central Mushroom Institution of the State Academy of Sciences, stood still for a while in front of the name plate which said "Mushroom Research Center of the State Academy of Sciences".
The respected General Secretary told the curious officials that it was not right for us to name the institutions some kind of "centre".
The respected General Secretary said seriously that we should name everything in our own way and the institution should be named "Central Mushroom Institution" with "central" at the beginning so as to give a clear picture that it is the only and supreme mushroom research institution.
The officials who quietly read the new name to themselves were deeply impressed by the noble intention of the peerlessly great man who led everything to be done in our own way.
The respected General Secretary is the great leader who sees to it that the Juche character and national identity should be thoroughly maintained in every way even when naming a product and an institution.
