A State Work which Must be Prioritized at Any Cost

 2026.5.5.

On July 27, 2024, the record-breaking heavy rain in the northern border of the DPRK and the neighbouring border of China caused a flood in the Amnok river, resulting in a grave crisis in which more than 5 000 Korean inhabitants were isolated in the flood-stricken areas in Sinuiju City and Uiju County of North Phyongan Province.

The respected General Secretary visited the flood-stricken areas in Sinuiju City and Uiju County of North Phyongan Province and he guided the whole operation to rescue the local residents of the flood-stricken areas in the stormy air-base. He also guided the 22nd emergency enlarged meeting of the Political Bureau of the 8th Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea on July 29 and 30.

In an important speech clarifying the stand of the Party and the DPRK government on the restoration of the flood-stricken areas in Uiju County, North Phyongan Province in early August 2024, the respected General Secretary expressed his will to generate the emergency system which will take all the children and students of the flood victim families from North Phyongan Province, Jagang Province and Ryanggang Province to Pyongyang and provide them with state support on childcare and education in a safe and convenient environment during the reconstruction of flood-stricken areas.

The respected Comrade Kim Jong Un said:

"Nursing, edification and education of students and other children are the most important of all state affairs never to be abandoned even if the sky may fall in."

The childcare and education of the rising generations are very important undertakings related to the rise and fall of a country and the future of the revolution.

Only when we attach importance to the bringing up of the rising generations and direct great efforts to it, can we build a powerful country developed in all aspects and add eternal brilliance to it.

Unlike the investment in the economic sector which requires a steady and stubborn effort as its success can be seen in real life at that time, the bringing up of the rising generation needs 20 or 30 years to see its fruit. The issue of youth is seldom solved in many countries, in spite of its significance, because it is not dealt on the basis of right policies.

The WPK has always paid deep attention to the child care, and education of the young, regarding it as the priority number one.

The respected General Secretary provided excellent conditions for children's education, childcare, residents' daily life as well as their healthcare within April 25 Hotel and the military parade training base in the capital city. He then visited April 25 Hotel on August 16 to learn about the preparations for education for students from the flood-stricken area.

On that day, he was very satisfied saying that it was worthwhile that the Party Central Committee had implemented the prompt and correct decision to take measures for providing temporary education for children and students in the flood-stricken area. He stressed again that the Party and the government should not neglect the education of the rising generations even a moment, adding that the Party will discuss important issues arising in laying a higher material and technical foundation in the education sector and putting the overall education on a new high stage and take strong measures.

Such is the desire and will of the great father to bring up the children as best as possible in the world.

Last year, children and students in North Phyongan, Jagang and Ryanggang provinces and other flood-stricken areas of the DPRK enjoyed learning. No signs of worry were found in the faces of the students who were full of joy in their neat new school uniforms and new school bags. All the people keenly felt in their appearance that their Party is a revolutionary party which is fighting for the rising generations, and the great motherly party which can never be found in any other parts of the world.

Indeed, the proud reality of the country where the cheerful laughter of children and songs of happiness are heard more loudly in spite of the difficulties and hardships, clearly shows the greatness of the idea and leadership of the respected General Secretary who regards the issue of childcare and education of children as the first priority state affair.

It is often said to look at children to see the future of a country.

As the new generation of staunch revolutionary talents emerged as the main force under the care of the great father, and the generations who grew up with the warm feelings of the Party and government at every moment of their growth support the country, the society is full of vibrant vitality and the national power of the DPRK is growing stronger in keeping with the might of the most powerful country in the world.

The DPRK will always emerge victorious as it is advancing dynamically by dint of love for the rising generations.
