Love the Youth

Whenever youth day comes around young people of Korea have a slogan that they call with deep emotion.

It is "Love the youth!" put forward by Chairman Kim Jong Il.

The respected Comrade Kim Jong Un said:

"By dint of the line of prioritizing young people and his outstanding and seasoned leadership, Comrade Kim Jong Il developed the youth league into an organization that is unfailingly loyal to the Party and the leader; he also trained young people into reliable successors in carrying forward the lineage of Paektu and into warriors in accomplishing the revolutionary cause of Juche. Thus he opened a new golden age for the youth movement."

One day in January 1996, he called the officials in the field of youth work, and said:

Young people, as the masters of the future, should be valued, and special attention should be paid to their ideological education. Our Party put forward the slogan "Love the youth!" on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the founding of the League of the Socialist Working Youth (at that time). Permeating this slogan is the great benevolence of President Kim Il Sung, who brought our young people up as a reliable reserve force and successors to our Party and our revolution, and led them to perform heroic feats; it also carries the warm love and care of the Party, which values them and defends and brings to full bloom their revolutionary optimism and hope, and the Party's and people's great trust in and expectations of them.

"Love the youth!"–this is a slogan that makes the hearts of all filled with deep emotion.

This slogan reflects the wish of Chairman Kim Jong Il to value our young people and put them forward.

Under the loving care of President Kim Il Sung and Chairman Kim Jong Il, who put forward the young people as the main force of the revolution and trained them to be the reliable young vanguard of the Workers' Party of Korea during the whole period of their long revolutionary leadership, the history of attaching importance to them was unfolded on this land and they are now enjoying true love of our people as flowers of the times.

The history of attaching importance to young people and loving them is now continuing on this land under the wise guidance of the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un, who is successfully carrying on the ennobling intentions of the great leaders.

Under the guidance of the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un and his warm blessings, our young people are growing up as reliable reserves of the WPK, possessed of the revolutionary spirit and boundless enthusiasm, with which they carry out without fail the revolutionary tasks assigned by the Party at the time set by the Party and at the standard demanded by the Party and make a report on the proud victories.
