A meaningful photo

Chairman Kim Jong Il was an incarnation of revolutionary comradeship who trusted his revolutionary comrades as himself and gave them all his affection and trust as much as he could throughout his revolutionary life.

His love for and trust in his comrades is also illustrated in a photo which he had taken in a white suit and white shoes with his comrade O Jin U, in the same dressing on February 16th, Juche 72(1983).

The respected Comrade Kim Jong Un said:

"He was a great leader, a peerless patriot and the benevolent father of our people, who devoted his all solely to the country's prosperity and the people's happiness with absolute loyalty to the President and warm affection for his country and people."

In fact, the chairman had never approved of organizing nationwide ceremonies for him and severely reprimanded the officials who showed such signs saying that he is also one of President Kim Il Sung's revolutionary soldiers.

However, Chairman Kim Jong Il, the highest incarnation of revolutionary comradeship, had read comrade O Jin U's mind who earnestly wished to have a memorial photo taken with him, but had never told anyone else his thoughts, to have his desire realized on his birthday, February 16th.

That day, Chairman personally came out of the garden to greet comrade O Jin U, the veteran fighter, and told the embarrassed fighter that it is natural a young man comes out for an old one and led him into a room.

On the table in the middle of the room were two white suits in exactly the same style and two pairs of white shoes.

The veteran fighter could not make out what it was all about and the chairman explained to him that he invited him to have a memorial photo taken together in the same white suit and white shoes.

The Chairman personally primped the veteran fighter in front of the mirror and told him that having a comrade who never sways in whatever situation on the revolutionary road inspires him with great confidence. He said that he had long been thinking of having a distinctive photo taken with him and had prepared two suits of white clothes and two pairs of white shoes to signify that a revolutionary soldier's loyalty to President Kim Il Sung should be always as pure and clean as the white colour. He continued to say with deep emotion that he could finally realize what he had been thinking for a long time.

So our people's wish to leave a photo of the Chairman on the Day of the Shining Star was realized into an immortal picture which we cannot see without tears and it became a witness of the precious history of comradeship peculiar to the Korean revolution.

When the photographer was to take a photo of the genuine human relationship beyond the one between the leader and a soldier, to show the world of comradeship, the veteran fighter suddenly realized that his right position was not appropriate and was to move to the left side of the Chairman. At this moment, the Chairman told him that left or right does not make any difference, we should become one arm of President Kim Il Sung wherever we are and said it would be better for him not to change his place.

So he had the photo taken in the right side of the Chairman and the noblest world of benevolence, a climactic scene of comradeship could be left in the photo.

It truly reflects the chairman's pure love and trust who gave his soldiers everything they want and his faith and will to break through every trial and gain successes by dint of comradeship.
