Building a Model Factory Conducive to the Development of Mass Sports

The respected Comrade Kim Jong Un said.

"We should build a modern sports equipment factory to produce sports equipment by our own efforts for our sportspeople. While producing them by our own efforts, we should raise their quality to the world-class level."

Thanks to the devoted and painstaking efforts made by the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un to make the people enjoy the advanced culture as befitting the highly civilized socialist state, the Pyongyang Sports Equipment Factory has been built as a model one which can truly contribute to the development of mass sports.

One day in June 2016, the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un visited the newly-built Pyongyang Sports Equipment Factory.

The officials of the factory were greatly excited to meet him who visited the factory despite the hot day when the temperature of midday was near 30°C even during the early summer.

He, who was pleased to meet the officials, kindly said that the Party regarded the sports equipment as an important issue in boosting the hot wind of sports and ensured that a new modern sports equipment factory was built in the sports village in Chongchun Street.

The respected Comrade Kim Jong Un, who always pays deep attention to the development of sports of the country, had personally initiated the construction of the Pyongyang Sports Equipment Factory founded in April 1959 as required by the new century and had built a modern sports equipment factory at the foot of a low hill in the Sports Village in Chongchun Street, thick with pine woods, saying that in order to develop sports, it was necessary to provide solid material conditions.

He had guided the construction plan several times and had dispatched a powerful building force of the People's Army. In January of that year, he had named the factory "Pyongyang Sports Equipment Factory".

Thanks to the vigorous struggle of the soldier-builders and officials of the Ministry of Physical Culture and Sports who turned out in hearty response to the lofty intention of the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un, the Pyongyang Sports Equipment Factory with a total floor space of 9 980 m2 had been built and put into full-scale production.

The respected Comrade Kim Jong Un said that he would learn about the quality of the products during his visit and stressed that the factory should play an important role in implementing the policy of popularizing sports in conformity with the raised sports zeal of the people.

And he said that when he decided to build the factory, he aimed to fully produce and supply equipment needed for the mass sports sector, rather than the one needed for specialized sports clubs, and that the production indices mainly for the development of mass sports should be increased in the future.

Looking round different places of the factory, he dropped in the sample room and said that the people should be provided with more quality sports equipment made by the factory so that everyone could lead a more civilized and happy life in good health.

That day, he looked round the sample room which is less than 20 metres long for 15 minutes, carefully evaluated the quality of the goods one by one and gave precious instructions on improving their quality and increasing the proportion of domestic production.

Before leaving the factory, he said that the wonderful construction of the modern Pyongyang Sports Equipment Factory made it possible to provide the people with quality sports goods made in the DPRK, and encouraged the officials and employees to creditably discharge their honorable duty in the struggle to raise the country to the position of a sports power as early as possible.

Thanks to the great and painstaking efforts of the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un who devoted himself to the development of mass sports, the Pyongyang Sports Equipment Factory has turned into another great creation of the new century and is making a positive contribution to the development of mass sports of the country.
