The proud history of the Korean Children's Union (KCU) which has developed under the great care of the peerlessly great men is associated with the warm love of President
The respected Comrade
"Every trace on the path traversed by the Korean Children's Union is associated with the warm care of Generalissimos
After the liberation of Korea, President
At that time, there organized some various Children's organizations in our country including "the Children's Union", "the Construction Children's Union", "the Democratic Children's Union", "the Children's Unit", "the Children's Association" and so on.
However, they were not organized in a unified way and were operating in a decentralized way without a clear programme.
On the basis of a scientific analysis of the actual conditions of the Korean children's movement after liberation, President
In several speeches and talks including the conclusion "On Improving the Work of Youth" made at the Presidium of the Central Organizing Committee of the Communist Party on May 13, 1946, the President set forth the policy of founding the children's union and energetically led the work to realize it.
So a joint meeting of the children's organizations in Pyongyang for the founding of the KCU was held on June 6, 1946.
That day President
With a broad smile on his face, the President warmly acknowledged the cheering schoolchildren and instructed them to be the pillars of future who would glorify the country with the pleasure of a new Korea, saying that their parents had led the long colonial life under the tyranny of the Japanese imperialists and hadn't displayed their own wisdom not because of their lack of intelligence, but rather because of the Japanese imperialists, who asserted the Korean people were not intelligent.
While the president stopped speaking for a moment and pointed to the temporary platform covering with the white cloth, he said that the schoolchildren were pure like that one and the destiny of the country was determined by how they would strive as if it could be dyed red, yellow or black.
The president went on to say that the KCU members should become the masters of the country who love their country and people, run factories, manage schools and build culture, and warmly wished that they would grow up cheerfully and courageously and learn hard as befits the masters of a new Korea to be heroes who build a new democratic Korea.
The clear and popular instructions of the president filled the KCU members with grand ambition and beautiful hope for tomorrow.
The KCU is now firmly carrying forward the brilliant history and tradition of the Juche-oriented children's movement under the loving care of respected Comrade
