Fatherly Love Permeated with the Light of the Reading Room

Chairman Kim Jong Il said:

"Our leader Comrade Kim Il Sung is the great father of the people, who personifies love for them at the highest level."

President Kim Il Sung regarded it as his motto to believe in the people as in heaven all his life and devoted his everything to the work for people's happiness.

There are a lot of tales about his love for people and one of them is about the light of the reading room in the Grand People's Study House.

He made it sure that a great library was built in the center of the capital city instead of the government building so that people could study to their hearts' content and personally named it as the Grand People's Study House.

He visited the completed library on September 26th, 1981.

Warmly returning the salute of cheering officials and builders, President Kim Il Sung looked around the outside and surroundings of the building.

And he entered the wide central hall and went up to the main floor by lift.

When he came into one of the reading rooms, he told the officials that light was not so good and they should install more bright bulbs or put table lamps.

He continued to say that it is better to put table lamps because the nearer the light, the better it is for eyes.

He told the officials that we mustn't give any harm to people's eyes by brightening the light and emphasized it's very important to protect people's eyes.

Even though he provided the most brilliant chandelier and the best desks and chairs for the lecture rooms and reading rooms, he was still worried about people's eyesight because of the light.

President Kim Il Sung is really the people's great father keeping the noblest love for them in his mind.
