The WPK's Unshakable Will and Determination-"We Serve the People!"

Chairman Kim Jong Il said:

"The slogan ‘We serve the people!' reflects the unshakable will and determination of our Party that puts the people's interests in the first place in all its considerations and devotes its all for their happiness."

The WPK is the motherly Party that is fully responsible for the destiny of the Korean people and serves them both in name and reality that makes great efforts to provide the people with a more affluent and civilized life.

Therefore, it is most honourable and worthwhile to make selfless and devoted efforts for the good of the people in the people-centred socialist system of our own under the leadership of the Workers' Party of Korea.

The first and most frequently found in buses running along the streets, officials' offices and countless patriots' work handbooks are the letters "We Serve the People!"

The slogan "We Serve the People!" reflects the sacred revolutionary history of the WPK embroidered with the maxim "People are My God".

In his reminiscences "With the Century", President Kim Il Sung wrote that it was his theory and motto to regard the people as heaven, and that the Juche-oriented principle of believing in the masses as the masters of the revolution and construction and relying on their strength was the most worshipped political faith and the very one that made him devote his whole life to the people.

You must first consider yourself as the son of the people, the servant of the people and the friend of the people, and consider the people as your teacher. If you regard yourself as a special being that lords over the people, you cannot enjoy the trust and love of the people: This is the essence of the idea of believing in the people as in Heaven, which President cherished and applied throughout his life.

That is why President built our Party into a new-type Party, a revolutionary Party of the Juche type, which regards it as his mission and nature to serve the people.

The WPK that embodies the great Juche Idea has the people-centred guiding idea that regards the masses as the masters of the revolution and the world, and its guiding theory is the people-centred guiding theory that has been developed with the masses at the centre, its guiding method is the popular leadership method and style of leadership that serves them.

Chairman Kim Jong Il inherited the President's idea of believing in the people as in Heaven and developed the WPK into a motherly Party serving the popular masses on the road for their interests.

He made sure that the politics pursued by our Party was politics of love for and trusts in the people and benevolent politics, and that all lines and policies were formulated in reflection of the people's aspirations and demands.

Words cannot describe the efforts the Chairman made to build the WPK into a genuine motherly Party which takes care of the people's destiny in a responsible manner and make the Party's benevolent politics creditably apply by enhancing the spirit of serving the people among officials.

In Juche 79 (1990), he put forward the slogan "We Serve the People!" reflecting the idea of the WPK on believing in the people as in Heaven.

The slogan is fully reflecting the noble intention of our Party to build a socialist power, the best power, on this land in our own way by relying on our people, the best in the world.

That's why during the last period of his life the President said that the Party recently put forward the slogan "We Serve the People", this is a very good slogan, adding that it reflects the deep intention of the Party to further strengthen the ties of kinship between the Party and the masses and give fuller play to the advantages of socialism in our country centered on the popular masses.

The history of our Party, which has aspired to bring the people's happiness into full bloom and has developed along with the people's happiness, is a sacred history shining with the maxim of believing in the people as in Heaven.

The slogan "We Serve the People!" also reflects the unshakable will and determination of the WPK to do everything for the people.

The sacred history of the WPK serving the people is being successfully carried forward by the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un who is making ceaseless journey of selfless, devoted efforts for the good of the people.

The noble intention of the respected General Secretary to make our Party a motherly Party serving our people best in the world can be felt anywhere on this land.

In Taechong-ri, Unpha County everyone can know the fact that the flood victims who were suffering unexpected disasters are living in the building of the county Party committee and the officials of the county Party committee are working in the tent outside the building as the legendary one and in Kangbuk-ri Kumchon County they can also know the story about the fact that our respected General Secretary who was so pleased with the bright smile on his face, saying that when the farmers feel happy, our Party has done well.

The will and determination of the WPK, which is associated with the slogan "We Serve the People!" are being translated into reality.

Many flats in Ryomyong, Songhwa and Hwasong streets and countless edifices on this land are associated with the love for the people. All these clearly prove the unshakable will and determination of the Workers' Party of Korea.

Not only the Korean people but also the whole world could clearly see through the devoted and self-sacrificing efforts of the respected General Secretary who, in a grim crisis due to the spread of the malignant epidemic, went to dangerous pharmacies and sent even the reserve medicine prepared from his family to the people who the Workers' Party of Korea regard as its God.

Possessed of such a noble viewpoint on the people, he once ensured that the ordinary labor innovators and meritorious workers should attend a significant banquet to be held in the garden of the headquarters of Central Committee of the Party and even gave the whole yard of the Central Committee of the Party for the people.

That is why our people, unhesitatingly calling the WPK a motherly Party, sing the song "We Are the Happiest in the World" even in the complicated international situation, natural disasters and anti-epidemic crisis, entrust their destiny and future entirely to the respected General Secretary.
