Regarding it as the Greatest Honour Given by People

Chairman Kim Jong Il is addressed as "Our General" by Korean people.

This could be only possible in the DPRK where people are united behind the leader with one idea and intention.

President Kim Il Sung said:

"For his leadership ability and character and for his loyalty, devotion and achievements, Comrade Kim Jong Il has earned the people's respect and love as well as high prestige as their leader."

In August 1995, Chairman Kim Jong Il summoned an official who had been to the flooded areas of Sinuiju for providing the people with aids.

Chairman inquired after the flood victims.

The official detailed the fact that the victims were deeply moved by the provision of the daily necessities and they were expressing their gratitude for saving their lives by addressing him "Our General".

Hearing what the official said, the Chairman stared out of the window and repeated the word "Our General…".

After a while, the Chairman said no other word in the world would sound as warm and friendly as "Our General".

Looking at the official full of emotion, he continued whenever he heard "Our General" he could feel the love and trust of the people, and pride and self-respect in that they follow their leader with sincerity.

It's none other than Chairman Kim Jong Il who regards the sincerity of the people as his greatest pride and self-respect more than any other honor.

Chairman continued he would regard the title of "Our General" as the greatest honor and faithfully serve the people so as to live up to their expectations.

Keeping this in mind, he devoted himself to the prosperity of the country and well-being of the people with the title as the honor and expectation given to him.
