Today, the growing yearning for the great leader Comrade
The great leader Comrade
"The whole life of the great leader Comrade
The great leader Comrade
The fact that all the holidays, Sundays and birthdays of the great leader since August 15, Juche 34 (1945), the day he liberated the country, until the day he passed away on July 8, Juche 83 (1994) amounts to a total of over 2 500 days deeply moves everyone.
In October, Juche 34(1945) when everyone was in festive emotion of liberation the great leader Comrade
He spent the New Year's day in 1946 after liberation visiting a beloved soldier' house and taking warm care of his health and family. And all other holidays and Sundays of that year were spent for successfully carrying out social and democratic reforms and improving the people's standard of living by strengthening economic foundations of the country.
When the whole country was swept with the flames of war, our great leader Comrade spent everyday guiding the front line without a single day of rest and April 15, Juche 43(1954), his first birthday after victory in the Fatherland Liberation War was spent on the road of field guidance, in the same way as his first birthday after liberation.
He came early in the morning to a rural village in Junghwa County and sat down together with the farmers on the dewy grass, taking measures to rehabilitate the war-ravaged rural economy and improve the farmers' standard of living without stopping for lunch. He continued to Ryokpho Stock Farm to give on-the-spot guidance and unfolded a plan to supply meat to the citizens in the capital city as early as possible, then visited the Hwangdong area in Pansok-ri, Taedong County kindling the flames of socialist cooperativization and left in the evening.
As you've read, he had never taken a day to celebrate his birthday or have a rest but had always remembered his comrades' birthdays and personally prepared birthday feasts for them, giving them privileged state commendations and precious gifts and sending them to holiday camps and nursing homes, anxious for their health.
Saying that there is no happier moment than spending time with people and he should visit wherever people live and work, he spent all holidays and Sundays for revolutionary comrades and for people.
His Sundays were spent taking benevolent care of the lives of orphans at Mangyongdae Revolutionary School and other revolutionary schools and laying down tasks to improve the supply of consumer goods in commercial services across the country such as Pyongyang Department Store No. 1. He also visited cooperative fields including Jangsuwon Cooperative Farm in Samsok District, Pyongyang to improve the living of farmers and for agricultural development which amounted to nearly 200 visits after the war alone. They were also spent in improving scenic attractions such as Mt. Kumgang, Mt. Myohyang, Mt. Taesong and Songdowon where song and laughter of working people and youths can be heard every day.
It was a Sunday too in October, Juche 43 (1954), the day when he gave field guidance to Iap-ri, Jungsan County and spent a night with the chairman of the management board unable to leave knowing that he lost 30 relatives to U.S. imperialists in the fatherland liberation war.
The great Leader spent all his holidays the same way. He visited ordinary families in Kim Chaek, Sinpho and Onchon to learn thoroughly of their living conditions, touching and feeling the floors of the house and opening lids of pots and cauldrons to have a look at their food situation. He also visited the hostel of the then Pyongyang General Textile Mill, personally tasting the soup that it served to its employees and even showing concern to the thickness of the blankets they used, and gave directions on its provisions and supply work.
This love, higher than the sky and deeper than the sea, was also shown when he inquired after the health of Ri In Mo, who returned to country after 43 years, on April 15, Juche 82 (1993), when the great leader should've been receiving birthday wishes from everyone, and checked on his medical treatment condition and presented him with a Party membership card signed personally by himself and a luxury watch with the great leader's august name engraved on it.
On the Sunday of June 19, Juche 83 (1994), the final days in his life, the great Leader visited Kumdang Cooperative Farm in Onchon County where crops were damaged from drought and spent a long time in the fields guiding agricultural work in the hot weather above 30 degrees Celsius. He spent his last birthday working for providing people who were celebrating the holiday with something new and by developing cooperative relations with other countries.
Looking back upon history and today, humanity has still never met a great leader and benevolent father who devoted everyday for people without a day's rest like the great leader Comrade
Sunday is a day of rest in all countries of the world, and even state-leading politicians regard it as an iron rule to spend the weekend at holiday resorts.
In the DPRK too, Sundays are legal holidays and everyone spends it having a break at recreational areas and theatres or being with families.
However, the great leader Comrade
The Korean people, who suffered only humiliation as a stateless colonial slave in the past, have now become a proud and dignified people enjoying a genuine life and happiness to their heart's content thanks to the devoted leadership of the great leader Comrade
The revolutionary achievements of the great leader Comrade
