Great Leadership Engraved in the True Feature of Educational Ideal of the People

The President Kim Il Sung is a great ideological theoretician who made an immortal contribution to the development of human education by clarifying the true feature of education idealized by the masses of the people.

What is of great significance among the immortal exploits of the President Kim Il Sung performed for the development of human education is that he clarified the true feature of education idealized by the people on the basis of the immortal Juche idea.

In his immortal classic work "Theses on Socialist Education" the President Kim Il Sung most scientifically clarified the essence, character and superiority of socialist education on the basis of the immortal Juche idea.

Historically, there have been its own definitions of education, but it has not comprehensively reflected the peculiar features of education that are fundamentally distinct from other social phenomena.

Hence in the past, the education has been given in the way of imposing only training of physical strength and or emphasizing only moral culture and pursuing only acquirement of knowledge and skill.

The preceding working-class thinkers clarified that education assumed a socio-historical and class character and considered the issue of education from the standpoint of the working class.

Thus, the view of education had been discussed in depth in many aspects historically, but there was no educational idea and theory that gave a comprehensive understanding of education and a complete explanation of socialist education.

For the first time in history, the President Kim Il Sung clarified that education is, in essence, an undertaking to train people to be social beings who are knowledgeable, morally sound and physically strong, and that socialist education is an undertaking to train people to be independent and creative social beings.

He also clarified that socialist education should be a giving all-people education to train all members of society to be communists, not a minority class, and that it should be a comprehensive and continuous education to educate all members of society from birth to death.

He also stressed that socialist education is a popular education serving the working masses, a revolutionary education that constantly gives all members of society education and edification to train them to be communists with independence and creativity, and that the socialist state is fully responsible for it.

On the basis of the Juche idea, the President Kim Il Sung clarified that the socialist education is, in essence, the work of training people to be independent and creative social beings and the most powerful being capable of carving out their destiny by their own efforts, thus making a perfect definition of education with man's social nature and overall development as the centre for the first time in history.

And by giving a comprehensive explanation of socialist education, it was clarified for the first time in history that socialist education is a popular education that the state takes responsibility for giving all the working people free compulsory education and that it is a revolutionary education bringing up to be genuine communists and revolutionaries.

On the basis of the scientific analysis of the revolutionary educational traditions created during the anti-Japanese revolutionary struggle, the rich educational experience in the period of building a new country, the socialist revolution and socialist construction, and the past history of education of mankind, the President Kim Il Sung clarified that socialist education is the most advantageous education, thus giving a far-sighted complete clarification of the goal of the education to be built by mankind and training man to be attained by mankind.

Thanks to the Juche-oriented idea and theory of socialist education and wise leadership of the President Kim Il Sung, the Korean people have a clear common notion and faith in the most ideal education and socialist education for the first time in history.
