The Name of the Veteran Commander Inscribed on the Sea of the Country

A new multi-purpose 5 000-ton class destroyer, keeping the considerable ability of a world military power, was set to shine in our sacred territorial waters with the name of the anti-Japanese general.

Receiving the news that the first new multi-purpose destroyer was was named "Choe Hyon" and classified as a Choe Hyon-class vessel on April 25, its launching day, when an important breakthrough was made in the modernization of the navy of the new era and a landmark was set up to mark a new heyday for the ocean cruise, our people were deeply impressed by the high intention and noble revolutionary obligation of the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un to infinitely love the first generation of Korean revolution and implant their feats and exploits in the hearts of the rising generations.

The respected Comrade Kim Jong Un said:

"Kim Chaek, An Kil, Choe Hyon, Kang Kon and other military commanders of the guerrilla origin assisted the great Comrade Kim Il Sung with an unfailing faith and military abilities in performing great exploits in liberating the country by the armed ranks for the cause of resisting Japanese imperialism by our own efforts and in the whole of course of pioneering the cause of building a country and an army and in annihilating the allied imperialist forces. They were all genuine generals and men of abilities."

The anti-Japanese revolutionary fighters were the faithful persons in the history of our Party and the veterans of the revolution who had battled through the anti-Japanese war and the Fatherland Liberation War under the guidance of President Kim Il Sung. Choe Hyon, whose name was inscribed by the respected General Secretary as the immortal name on the sea of the country, was a genuine revolutionary with a transparent revolutionary outlook on the leader who held the great leaders in high esteem and devotedly defended them with the invariable faith and obligation just like a gun.

He was a loyal man who carried out the order given by President without fail. His unconditional executing spirit of the leader's order and instruction was based on his absolute worship of his leader. Thus, even though he was far away from the supreme headquarters during the severe period of the war, he managed to command the corps shudder the enemy in the rear and to defend Height 1211 at the cost of his life.

His high revolutionary outlook on the leader remained unchanged in the glorious road of ensuring the pure continuity of the revolutionary cause of Juche, holding the great General in high esteem as the leader of our Party and people.

He once met the then Prime Minister after a national meeting and told him that the success of economic work could relive the great General of his burden. He then asked him to take good charge of the economy while he would be responsible for the national defence with arms as befits the first generation of the revolution, thus supporting him well.

With this faith, even at such an old age, Choe Hyon went to every post and completed the combat preparations both in the operations center and trenches on the front line as intended by the great General whenever the enemy made a provocative war racket.

He was indeed a model of a revolutionary who set an example in showing what the position and attitude of upholding the leader should be like to the upcoming generations.

All the Korean people brace once again the truth of the revolution and life, which they should cherish all their lives, bearing in mind the name of the veteran commander inscribed in the sea of the country.

The life of a true loyal is not only recorded in the past but is handed down as an incessant glory along with the creation of a new history in the bosom of WPK.
