Today the Workers' Party of Korea strives to build up the strongest national defence capability, lay a firm foundation of the self-supporting economy and make innovations, creations and progress in all fields of social life, overcoming all difficulties. This is to defend the bright laughter and dream of the children and bring them into fuller bloom.
After liberation, the issue of pencils was discussed as the first agenda item of the Provisional People's Committee and the construction of school buildings was dynamically pushed forward in all parts of the country despite the difficult situation of the country. The education of the rising generation has been the foremost concern and important affair of our Party and the children have always been regarded as the king of the country. Even during the arduous march, the doors of the schools were not closed for a moment, and the measures of love for the rising generations were taken constantly.
"Love the future!", this very slogan has a clear answer to what our Party is struggling for.
The universal 12-year compulsory education was enforced in the new century, the work for improving the educational conditions and environment is dynamically conducted and the public interest in education and enthusiasm for supporting it are mounting. This is a brilliant embodiment of our Party's policy which regards the training of the rising generation as a top priority.
"Sonamu" ("pine tree") brand schoolbags, "Mindlle" (dandelion) brand notebooks, "Haebaragi" (sunflower)" brand school things, beautiful and neat school uniforms and "The Law of the DPRK on Childcare" which is unique in the world.
Our children are being brought up to be pillars who will shoulder the future of the country thanks to the great love for the younger generations.
Today valuable successes are being made in the work for the rising generation, but our Party is putting more efforts into this work.
At the 3rd Plenary Meeting of the 8th Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea, our Party set it as its policy to supply dairy and other nutritive foods to children across the country at the expense of the state, and at the 4th Plenary Meeting of the 8th Central Committee of the Party proposed the task of supplying all students with new types of school uniforms and bags of good quality, and took an important measure of the Party Central Committee to this end.
At the historic 9th Plenary Meeting of the 8th Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea, the respected General Secretary earnestly called upon all the officials to further enhance their sense of responsibility and role in the important revolutionary work our Party is devoting all its efforts to true to the original nature and sacred duty of genuine revolutionaries, saying that work for our schoolchildren is a political work that guarantees the bright future of our country, rather than an economic and administrative work, and that the bright smile of the children is a symbol of the socialist system and an image of Korean-style socialism.
It is said that it takes a lot of effort to raise a child.
However, the respected General Secretary is devoting his all to the children with the noble will that if the children born on this land, the rising generations grow up well in good circumstances from their childhood, they will bring more vibrant vitality and vigor to our society in the next 20 and 30 years and the national power of the DPRK will grow stronger.
Why does he put such painstaking efforts into the work for the children although he has so many things to do for the prosperity of the country and the happiness of the people, thus having no time to have a rest?
The answer lies in the words of sincerity of the respected General Secretary with deep intention.
Loving and fostering the future are the outlook on the rising generation and the revolution that we revolutionaries should acquire.
With such noble will and ardent sincerity, the respected General Secretary is devoting greater efforts than those of all parents in the world.
Human history records stories about the great men who became friends and teachers of children, regarding love for the rising generations as the greatest virtue. However, the world does not know such a man as our General Secretary who is the father of all the children in the country and gives them warm love and affection.
There is a saying that children reflect the future of the country.
Seeing the images of our children growing up healthily to be the masters of the future, enjoying only happiness thanks to the warm love and care of the respected General Secretary, one can understand for whom we are building a powerful country and how we could advance indomitably towards the future despite the difficulties.
Thanks to the warm care of the respected General Secretary who cherishes the noblest view of the younger generation and the future and devotes great affection on them, the song "We Are the Happiest in the World" will resound on this land for all ages and our country will make remarkable progress by dint of the great love for the rising generations.
