The Immortal Exploits Achieved by President Kim Il Sung Holding High the Banner of Independence

 2026.4.1.

The greatest of the immortal exploits of President Kim Il Sung was that he clarified the outstanding idea of establishing Juche idea in the Korean revolution and the independence of the nation.

Looking back on the course of the Korean revolution shining with independence, we recall the Dahuangwai Meeting, which is important in the sacred history of the anti-Japanese armed struggle.

President Kim Il Sung said:

"The Dahuangwai meeting was a great ideological battle which the Korean communists fought, under the banner of independence, in order to maintain the Juche line of the Korean revolution and to defend their right to independence."

The Dahuangwai meeting was convened, prompted by the fact that Zhong Zi-yun, an inspector from the Manchurian Provincial Committee of the Young Communist League, had made an absurd report to the provincial Party committee that 70 per cent of the Koreans in east Manchuria were "Minsaengdan" members.

At the time of the meeting, the anti-"Minsaengdan" struggle was being conducted in an ultra-Leftist manner in all party organizations of East Manchuria, causing the death of the staunch Korean communists on a false charge of being "Minsaengdan" members.

The President admitted that the issue of the struggle against the "Minsaengdan" can be rectified only by making an official decision and proposed to the east Manchuria party leadership that a meeting be convened to this end.

At the Dahuangwai Meeting held for about ten days from February 24, 1935, the Leftist chauvinists made the wrong assertion that most Koreans are "Minsaengdan" members or suspects and that Koreans cannot be cadres and should not hold the slogan of national liberation.

President Kim Il Sung, enraged by their absurd sophistry, refuted;

It is illogical to say that 70 per cent of the Korean people and 80 to 90 per cent of the Korean revolutionaries in east Manchuria are "Minsaengdan" members. The allegation that 70 per cent of the Koreans in east Manchuria belong to the "Minsaengdan" implies that all the Koreans except aged people, children and women are "Minsaengdan" members and if so, is the "Minsaengdan" fighting for the revolution in east Manchuria? If 80 to 90 per cent of Korean revolutionaries are "Minsaengdan" members, what have they been fighting a hard battle for in the guerrilla zones over the past 3 or 4 years, without housing, clothing and being fed properly even in the severe winter cold? It is clear even to a mere child that they are not "Minsaengdan" members.

Saying that if heterogeneous elements occupy 80 to 90 per cent of something, that thing changes into something else, and this is an axiom, he sharply denounced the criminal acts of those who were trying to abuse the anti-"Minsaengdan" struggle to achieve their narrow-minded chauvinist goal and dishonest factional ambition.

He also stressed that the matter of personnel should be settled in a way to strengthen the militant solidarity of the Korean and Chinese peoples and their common struggle against the Japanese, and the principle of appointing cadres with the main stress on their loyalty to the revolution and their competency.

At the meeting, the President clarified that it is the independent right and sacred duty of the Korean communists and the Korean people to fight for the victory of the Korean revolution and the cause of liberating the Korean nation, a right which nobody can ever prevent from being fulfilled or perform in place of the masters.

The Dahuangwai meeting was a great ideological battle which the Korean communists fought, under the banner of independence, in order to maintain the Juche line of the Korean revolution and to defend their right to independence.

With the meeting as an occasion, the Korean revolution was saved from crisis, the anti-Japanese national liberation struggle could dynamically advance under the banner of Juche, and many people could clear themselves of the false charge of being the "Minsaengdan" members with the atmosphere of antagonism, distrust and fear in the revolutionary ranks removed, thus achieving the unity of the ranks.

The Dahuangwai Meeting was a turning point that the Korean people more highly admired the President as a peerless patriot and the center of unity.
