19. The Distinctive Feature of the Korean People－Supporters, Advisers and Assistants of the Party

Party's supporters, advisers and assistants－this represents the main feature of the Korean people who have entrusted their destiny and future entirely to the WPK upholding its leadership with pure conscience and fidelity.

It implies the WPK's belief and affection for people and the source of its great power.

The WPK relies on nothing but the people, and they are Party's peerless supporter, adviser and assistant. With the invincible might of the single-hearted unity whereby the Party relies on people and people support the Party's idea and leadership with a single mind, the DPRK realizes its dream and ideal of building a socialist power without any flinch in the face of severe adversities.

The respected Comrade Kim Jong Un said:

"In the whirlwind of history, our Party has trusted our great people alone, and they have been its only supporters, advisers and assistants."

In his speech "Making Selfless, Devoted Efforts for the Good of the People is the Mode of Existence and Source of Invincible Might of the Workers' Party of Korea" made at the Parade and Public Procession of Pyongyang Citizens on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the founding of the glorious Workers' Party of Korea, the respected Comrade highly appreciated the people as the supporters, advisers and assistants of the WPK.

The history of the WPK is the long path traced by the Korean people, and the victory the Party has achieved is won by the great people. The Party, whose red flag bears a hammer, a sickle and a writing brush, from the first day of its founding, has never fallen apart from the popular masses and has conducted the revolution and construction by placing trust in them and by dint of their might.

The Korean people are ardent supporters who have supported the idea and leadership of the Party with absolute trust and sincerity.

They have regarded the Party's lines and policies as the most justifiable without any slightest hesitation or vacillation even at critical times. There is an example of a female Party member at Ragwon Machine Complex during the Fatherland Liberation War and a grandmother at Thaesong ri during the postwar period of rehabilitation. They both told President Kim Il Sung on the spot that they supported him, adding that they would emerge victorious in the war and defeat the factionalists as long as they were led by him.

They have regarded the Party's policies as just and been true to its leadership with strong conviction. When the Party called upon the people to raise the flames of upsurge or conduct a gigantic construction, they responded by waging Chollima campaign and speed campaign, and implemented the Party's decisions unconditionally with socialist patriotic movement and revolutionary mass movement.

Korean people are good advisers who have contributed to the implementation of the Party's policy with their ardor and creative efforts.

The people's demand and interest are the starting point of formulating the lines and policies of the WPK and its criterion. During the whole period of protracted revolutionary leadership, it has been deeply rooted in people whenever it steered the course or faced hardships.

President Kim Il Sung and Chairman Kim Jong Il always regarded the popular masses as the greatest mentor and went among the people. Whenever they met workers and farmers, they grasped their hands covered with oil and talked over the ways of putting production on a steady basis and sat knee to knee consulting with them about farming. Wherever they went, they listened to the people's voice and found solutions to turn adversity into prosperity and misfortune into blessing. And this can be found everywhere in the DPRK.

The Korean people are devoting themselves to carrying out the Party's policy in all fields of the comprehensive socialist construction with a wholehearted desire to live up to the trust of the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un who highly appreciates them as mentors and advisers of the Party.

They are loyal assistants true to the plan and idea of the WPK with substantial achievements.

Party's decision is just practice and victory for Korean people.

It is the fighting spirit and mettle of Korean people that respond with thunder to the Party's lightning and shake the whole country. On his visit to Kangson Steel Complex during the postwar period of rehabilitation, the President appealed to the working class to produce 10,000 tons more than the output. True to the call of the President they performed miracles of producing 120,000 tons of steel slabs from a blooming mill with the production capacity of 60,000 tons. This dealt a blow to the factionalists who hindered overtly and covertly the implementation of the Party policies.

With the people, the WPK have been able to overcome all trials and hardships thus building a socialist fortress strong in independence, self-reliance and self-defense on this land where centuries-old backwardness and poverty had been dominated, opening a new era of building a socialist power against the vicious sanctions and blockade of the imperialists.

The successes achieved in the Juche revolutionary cause are not merely the fruition of magic force but the priceless gains of the patriotic Korean people boundlessly faithful to the Party's leadership.

It is none other than the devotion of the WPK to the people that grew its faithful supporters, advisers and assistants.

Whenever it faced manifold difficulties, it relied on not any other material conditions or external assistance but their revolutionary enthusiasm and fighting spirit. Sharing the burden with the Party, Korean people have become powerful driving force of the revolution hewing out their destiny by dint of self-reliance.

As the WPK regards the people as the root of its activity and the source of indomitable might and gives absolute priority to the interests of the people, they trust and follow the Party as the beacon of their destiny, and the whole society has turned into a grand flower garden of single-hearted unity in full bloom. That the WPK firmly grasped the helm of the revolution and vigorously led the socialist cause without any slightest vacillation in the face of the historical challenges lies in its selfless devotion to the people deeply rooted in the minds of the people.

Indeed, the Korean people, the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un loves with his heart and soul, will always remain his supporters, advisers and assistants.

Juche Korea is sure to emerge victorious in the comprehensive socialist construction as it is led by the WPK and advances by dint of single-hearted unity with the people firmly rallied behind the Party and remained loyal to its cause.
