The WPK set the red flag as its pole of guidance, symbol of the faith and will of the Korean communists who would be willing to devote themselves to the people and the noble ideal of building a new world where the people became masters from the first moment of its inauguration in history.
The Society of Rallying Comrades, the first party organization of Juche type was formed on July 3, 1930.

Cha Kwang Su, Kim Hyok, Choe Chang Gol, Kye Yong Chun, Kim Won U, Choe Hyo Il, Kim Ri Kap, Kim Hyong Gwon, Pak Kun Won, Ri Je U, and others, the members of the first party organizations, were indignant at the dissolution of the Korean Communist Party a few years ago, but they recited an impromptu poem on the occasion of the significant historic moment and expressed their desire to fire a salute.
The red flag that fluttered at the scene of the formation of the first party organization has been fluttering brilliantly in the sky of the century along with the history of the glorious WPK which has regarded it as its supreme duty to uphold the people as heaven and to serve them since the beginning of the party.
Nearly 80 years of the Korean Workers' Party's struggle to defend the red flag, symbol of the original ideals and spirit of our Party, without any slightest deviation despite the manifold hardships and adversities of the past, was a proud history of firmly preserving its character and nature as a genuine people's party and a revolutionary party.
The WPK will as ever make a brilliant history of noble devotion to the people on the Party's red flag by performing a great and immortal exploit for the people and emerge victorious as it is led by the respected Comrade
