The respected Comrade Kim Jong Un said:
"Indeed, Comrade Kim Il Sung was the great leader of the revolution, the benevolent father of the people and a peerlessly great man admired by everyone, whose equal has never been recorded in history."
President Kim Il Sung wisely led the young people to acquire high military knowledge in the period when they were preparing for the armed struggle against Japanese imperialism.
One day in early December 1930, President Kim Il Sung met officials of the youth league of Wujiazi and told them that the Korean young people should always make up their mind to rise up and fight with arms in their hands and that armed struggle is the only way to achieve the independence of Korea, and that all the young people should learn military knowledge and how to handle weapons.
True to his teachings, the young people launched intensive military study. The members of the Anti-Imperialist Youth League met regularly to study military affairs and learned the method of dismantling and combining weapons and the principle of shooting.
However, some of the young people neglected the study of military knowledge and were keen on handling weapons and training in shooting with the idea that a good shot would be needed to fight the enemy.
Learning about these deviations arising in military study and training of the AIYL members, President Kim Il Sung said that all of you should fight with arms and become commanders in the future, so you should not only be good at handling weapons but also know how to lead the ranks. He also mentioned that it has been said that a strong general has no weak military personnel from olden times, saying that this shows how important the role of a commander is. He continued to tell them that to become a strong general, you should not only treasure and love military personnel and teach military knowledge well but also strengthen them through practical struggle.
Only then did they keenly realize why President Kim Il Sung paid such deep attention to their military study and training.
Thanks to his noble teachings and energetic guidance, the Korean young people had grown to be able military commanders and dauntless generals demonstrating valour in the flames of the anti-Japanese revolutionary war.
