Looking Forward to the Future of the Victorious Country

There are a range of revolutionary anecdotes telling the immortal exploits of President Kim Il Sung. Among them there is a story telling about the exploit of the President, who visited Kim Il Sung University and gave the faculty and students the task of investigating, controlling the natural resources in country and making good use of them for postwar reconstruction during the hard-fought war.

President Kim Il Sung said:

"One of the important tasks confronting the faculty and the students of the University today is to conduct good research for the reconstruction of the devastated national economy after the war."

Paeksong-ri, a glorious land widely known to the people of the world, is a historic place telling the immortal leadership exploit of President Kim Il Sung. During the grim Fatherland Liberation War Kim Il Sung University had been situated in a mountain of Paeksong-ri. In spite of cannon smoke President Kim Il Sung visited there and instilled confidence of victory into the faculty and students and ushered in the eternal world of prosperity of the country.

One day in April, 1952 was when the President visited Kim Il Sung University in the deep valley of Paeksong-ri. He personally called the faculty and students of Kim Il Sung University on the front to Paeksong-ri, the land of history, looking forward to the future of the victorious country in the days of the fierce war in which heaven was burning.

That day, he called them close to him, outlining the war administration of the past two years and the victorious prospect of the Fatherland Liberation War, and clarified the tasks confronting the faculty and students of Kim Il Sung University in connection with postwar reconstruction.

President said that one of the important tasks facing the university is to conduct good research for the reconstruction of the devastated national economy after the war. He said that, in order to keep house well the householder should be well aware of what things he has got in his house and how much property he has got. And like this, we should know well what resources, where and how much there are in our country to build up the country's livelihood well so as to be able to plan out for the post-war reconstruction and go according to the plan with confidence, and build up national economy in a planned way.

At that time, the faculty and students were shocked and surprised to hear far-sighted plan of the President beyond all imagination and they cheered in a loud voice as if the valley of Paeksong-ri vanished.

In the middle of the war that takes turns life or death, no one could think of the fact that President who took charge of the war would come to Kim Il Sung University in Paeksong-ri to give them all the important tasks related to post-war reconstruction, not the work necessary for military operations, looking forward to the future of the victorious country.

Nobody knows a leader like our President who made a plan looking forward to the future of victorious motherland on the days of severe war fighting a decisive battle. That is why Paeksong-ri, the land of history, is telling us like this.

By the conviction of sure victory and gifted wisdom of President, the future of prosperity of our country had already been got ready at that time in the flame of severe war.
